The Typewriter Movement

Before iPhones and Mac Computers, there were many prototypes for what we know today as, modern technology. Record players, Polaroid camera’s, and typewriters were at one point considered extraordinary growth for technology. Some believe, they are still the greatest inventions of all time.

The Typewriter Movement is something I wanted to create to help others find inspiration and further appreciation for things of the past!

I started writing as a sophomore in high school, and received my first typewriter on my birthday that same year. I have been writing and creating poetry ever since! I followed and admired many writers and poets, including R.M. Drake, who is very special because he inspired me to begin writing in the first place.

That same year, I decided to write R.M. Drake and thank him for inspiring me. Eventually, he wrote me back and told me to “look deep within myself for everything I write” and “too never fear failure”.

So my advice to all of you who are writers, poets, and authors who have yet to show your work… Take a Chance! You have nothing to lose and nothing to fear. It will only better you and your work.

Sincerely,

Carson Young
